Endau, Johor.

The local
Bak Kut Teh. Not the best but ok.
Ooi Kee signature dish, Assam Fish.
At Restoran Ooi Kee. A Teochew in a Teochew Fishing Village, Endau. Peace!

We stopped near Beoustead Plantation situated in Kota Tinggi Highway a.k.a East Coast Road. We saw at least 8 stalls on the way back from Mersing. However,no good durian in this road. NONE! Can't cheat Sarawakian lah, apek! We can 'see' whether the durian is good or not.

On one of the stall (not this one on the pic), one Singaporean lady bought a very beautiful durian. No dirt, all green, round durian. By the time we came to approach that stall, i know right away the durian is still RAW! Freshly fallen from the tree that very morning i guess. Pity her. Well, maybe i was wrong. Maybe she purposely bought raw durian coz she want cook it as one of her dish tonight. I don't know...by the way her pants left unzipped while paying for the fruit. Can't help! Sigh!

Note to self: Pekan Nanas so much better. Over there sell by biji. RM10 can get 4 biji! Here they sell by weight. Some are RM4/kg, RM6/kg. 1 biji already 3, 4 kg. Crazy one! Sure want to slaughter Singaporean. Lazy to drive far? Nevermind, in between Taman Sentosa heading towards Permas Jaya , you just drive along Kampung Bakar Batu area. There is a bus stop there and an open parking space where some durian seller come from Segamat park their lorries full of durians! RM10 for 4 biji also and some are like Rm5 per biji. Super cheap.
